If You See This Road Sign, Do Not Stop – It Could Be Fatal

Whether you drive a car, ride a motorcycle or even walk, you must follow certain rules and regulations to ensure your and others' safety. As such, it is very common for the government to place road signs to ensure the safety of its citizens.

However, placing the road signs will not ensure the safety of travellers unless they are being followed. That being said, road signs are designed to be simple and easily identifiable, yet they can sometimes be a little confusing.

If You See This Road Sign, Do Not Stop – It Could Be Fatal

Also, since there are no typefaces for road signs in India, identifying a road sign at a quick glance can be quite difficult. As such, here's a road sign that we want you to know when seen, you must not stop driving your motor vehicle.

Additionally, the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) recently posted a tweet regarding this road sign. This social media post by NHAI was put up to improve awareness among the public regarding this particular road sign.

The road sign in question consists of a white upward-pointing arrow on a blue board, which depicts "Compulsory Ahead". While all roads are designed to move the traffic ahead, this particular sign means that the vehicle must not be stopped or take any side turn.

In fact, according to NHAI's post on Twitter, this traffic sign means " Traffic should move in straight direction and turning on either side would lead to penal action and safety hazard".

That being said, this road sign can be seen on the highways, and not adhering to this traffic sign could disrupt the flow of traffic. This could lead to vehicle blocks or sometimes it could even result in a series of fatal accidents.
