Putting Safety First: Hyundai Makes 3-Point Seatbelts For All Seats Standard On All Models
Hyundai recently announced that it would equip its entire fleet with 3-point seat belts and a seat belt reminder system for all seats as standard across all variants. The initiative is in line with the Indian government's interest in promoting better vehicle safety standards.
Also, Hyundai has taken specific safety enhancement initiatives across selected models in its line-up. Safety traits such as Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Vehicle Stability Management (VSM), and Hill Assist Control will be standard on the Venue and all models above it, including the N Line variants.

In addition to other upgrades, the standardization of 6 airbags was extended to Creta, Alcazar, and Ioniq 5. Meanwhile, selected variants of the Venue will be upgraded with 4 airbags.
Hyundai also set a benchmark in terms of safety by offering 4 airbags as standard in the Grand i10 NIOS & Aura. At the same time, the all-new Verna has 6 airbags as standard across all the variants.
Creta and Alcazar now will have a host of standard active and passive safety features such as Electronic Stability Control, Vehicle Stability Management, Hill-start Assist Control, and rear disk brakes, amongst others.

Furthermore, the Level 2 ADAS system, introduced in 2022 model Tucson, has been extended to Ionic 5 and Verna and will be made available in other popular models going ahead.
According to Tarun Garg, the Chief Operating Officer of Hyundai Motor India, "Customer safety is Hyundai's utmost priority, and they are continuously focusing on improving the safety standards in their product line-up."
Thoughts: Hyundai has taken a major leap forward in ensuring the safety of its customers. In a country like India, where road safety is a major concern, safety enhancement initiatives are indeed the need of the hour.
By upgrading its entire line-up with safety features such as 3-point seatbelts and seatbelt reminders, Hyundai has set an example for the industry to follow. While advanced safety features in vehicles provide an added layer of protection, it is ultimately the responsibility of the driver to drive carefully and responsibly.
