Dues Sea Siders: Honda Super Cub For Surfers
Dues Bali custom shop has created a bike for sea surfers with the Honda Super Cub C70.
Do you like motorcycles and sea surfing? Well, then meet the Dues Sea Sider, a Honda Super Cub customised exclusively for surfers.
The Dues Sea Sider was inspired from the Deus outpost in Canggu, Bali. The bike was built on the humble Honda Super Cub C70 as the base.

Deus' Tom Hawkins says, "We decided it was time to revisit something we had done before, but with a slightly different approach. We wanted to build ourselves a new surf-commuter for around Canggu,"

He further explains that previously you needed an off-roader in the area of Canggu, but the roads are now smoothly paved, and so they decided to give the new build more of a ‘bicycle feel' to it.

The Dues Sea Sider started off as a 1974 Honda C70; however, with just 6bhp did not make the cut to ride on the seaside. So, Dues decided to power the bike with the engine from a 1995 Honda Astra to give it more oomph and the convenient bonus of an electric start.

To make the C70 lighter, Deus sourced vintage bicycle pieces from a neighbouring island and restored them, like the handlebars and the front light along with the front basket.

"We wanted the bike to be as lightweight as we could make it," says Tom, "so we also used imported rims from Japan, stripped the frame of unneeded parts, and kept things as simple as possible."

The surfboard rack and the exhaust were hand-built, and the leather seat was made in a little shop down the road.

If you are in Canggu, Bali, the ‘Sea Sider' C70 is at the Deus' Temple of Enthusiasm and check it out in person.
