Hennessey Venom GT Laps The Circuit of the Americas
The Circuit of the Americas (COTA) is a brand new world class racing facility located in Austin, Texas, U.S.A. The circuit has been included in the 2014 Formula 1 racing calendar. The Grand Prix of U.S.A, the circuit's first F1 race will take place on November 9, 2014.
COTA is said to a very challenging track, with lots of gradient changes, sharp turns and a couple of long straights that will facilitate overtaking. Grand Prix of USA is still more than a year away. But you do not have to wait that long to take a virtual tour of Texas track.
Recently, a team from Hennessey took their Venom GT for a lap of COTA. This was the first time the 1,224 HP flyweight hypercar tasted the asphalt at the American circuit.
The Venom GT is seen in the video below making a lap of the circuit, trailing behind a Hennessey modified HPE750 Nissan GT-R. It looks like strict instructions were given to the drivers not to get carried away and start racing (Though we know what the outcome of that race would have been). The on-board camera on the GT-R provides a good visual of the entire track.
