Spooky Tales of Lonavala: The Haunted Rolls Royce
Imagine, if you will, a world where ghost stories aren't confined to creaky old mansions or spooky graveyards. A world where even automobiles can be haunted. Growing up, we've all heard countless tales of haunted houses, ancient mausoleums, and phantom-filled bungalows, especially those from the British era in India.
The veracity of such stories is always questionable. However, it's intriguing to note that supernatural sagas are no longer exclusive to houses or buildings. Just as the Bullet Baba shrine in Rajasthan, where a Royal Enfield Bullet bike is venerated, we've stumbled upon another riveting tale. This time, it's about a haunted Rolls Royce, shrouded in mystery, nestled in Lonavala, Maharashtra.

The Enigma of the Haunted Rolls Royce
If you've ever lived in Pune or Maharashtra, you might have heard of the chilling tale of Ayesha Villa and its resident phantom Rolls Royce. Sat in the villa's porch, the abandoned car has been a silent witness to many generations. The video shared recently on social media shows a group of youngsters exploring the grounds of the Ayesha Villa and its mysterious Rolls Royce.
As per one account, the car has been there since the British reign. The narrator of the story explains how the occupants of the house were brutally murdered, and Ayesha, a 17-year-old girl, was violated and killed. Post this gruesome incident, people have reported hearing strange noises and seeing spectral figures in the house at night. It is said that the house is now abandoned and believed to be haunted by the spirits of the unfortunate victims.
The Alternating Tale: Wealthy Couple and Their Daughter Ayesha
Another version of the story speaks of a well-off Christian couple living in the house, with Ayesha being their 17-year-old daughter. They were attacked one night, and the couple was murdered. The narrative is unclear about Ayesha's fate that night. The Rolls Royce, a symbol of affluence, belonged to the family and is now believed to be haunted, just like the house.
Both these tales remain just that, tales. There's no concrete evidence to back them up. The house, located on the old Mumbai-Pune highway in Khandala, is in a prime location. It's plausible that these stories were propagated by someone with an interest in preventing its sale. The abandoned house, with the Rolls Royce draped in dust, does create a spine-chilling aura, aiding these ghostly tales.

The Condition of the Haunted Rolls Royce
The video in question was recorded six years ago, and since then, the car has further deteriorated. Bystanders passing the house have hurled stones at the car, damaging its windshield and headlamps. The body panels have rusted, and the car is now in a deplorable state. The car model, a Rolls Royce Silver Shadow, was produced between 1965 and 1980, and was powered by a 6.75 litre V8 petrol engine.
Interestingly, another video on YouTube suggests that the current owner of the Rolls Royce is planning to restore the Silver Shadow. This car was also featured in the 2004 Bollywood movie, "Lakeer." If the restoration does happen, it might spell the end for the haunted Rolls Royce and Ayesha Villa tales, ensuring these chilling stories fade into oblivion.
DriveSpark Thinks
In conclusion, whether or not the stories of a haunted Rolls Royce in Lonavala are true is subjective, dependent on your belief in the paranormal. However, these narratives continue to enthrall us, and as long as they do, the legend of the haunted Rolls Royce will live on.
