Gran Turismo 6 Receives FIA Approval
Gran Turismo 6 is truly the ultimate virtual driving simulator, so agrees the Federation Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA) now as well, in addition to the huge following of simulator enthusiasts across the world.
The FIA has now begun a long-term partnership with game creators Polyphony Digital Inc., to bring in new features and official content into the game. The FIA has certified four tracks, including Silverstone, for use in the game after FIA officials recognised the excellent recreation of the four official tracks during an inspection of the game's 3D modelling standards.

Gran Turismo 6, which is widely regarded as the closest thing to real world racing, is the first simulator to be officially approved by the FIA. The governing body will continue to certify and analyse more content for the simulator in the future, including a new online feature that is said to give "Gran Turismo players and motor sport fans the opportunity to engage with real motorsport".

Polyphony Digital president Kazunori Yamauchi said in a statement, "We are incredibly proud for Gran Turismo 6 to be officially certified by the governing body of world motor sport for in-game content. As we celebrate the 15th anniversary of Gran Turismo, this has to be the biggest accolade the game has received in its history. Our partnership with the FIA is a further step forward in our continued quest to bring the worlds of virtual and reality racing into a full circle."
