Forza FilmSpeed Uses McLaren MP4-12C To Shoot Stunning Zoetrope
The technique of creating a video by moving still images extremely quickly is called zoetrope. It is the same motion effect that is created when you flip through the pages of a book quickly when the pages contain closely matched still images.
Now imagine a scaled up version of the same. Throw in a supercar, an expensive camera and a talented videographer. This resulting video is nothing short of beautiful. Forza, in association with Mclaren released ‘FilmSpeed' as a promotional video for the eponymous video game. We have the video for you below, along with three other ‘behind the scenes' video. You'll enjoy it. Believe us.
Behind the wheels of the McLaren MP4-12C isnon other than Tanner Foust. Remember, the speed of the car was critical to the outcome of the video. So credit should be given where it is due.
The team placed 680 precisely sized aluminium boards at the edge of the track. The placement, size and positioning of the images were all critical to achieve the end result.
The video camera, attached to the MP4-12C was controlled by Jeff Zwart, an accomplished and extremely talanted videographer.
There is no denying Filmspeed is a stunning piece of work. With this video Forza can rest assured those who watched this will never forget.
