Customer View: 8 Months Waiting Is Too Long For The Ford Endeavour

By Rajkamal

Ford India has revamped most of its cars for the Indian market. The latest car to have undergone a major make over is the Ford Endeavour SUV. The Endeavour was launched in India for Rs. 24.75 lakh ex-showroom (Mumbai), and Ford has big plans for this SUV.

But sadly, the waiting period has disappointed many customers in India, like Ashley Koshy, a resident of Chennai. Ashley runs a five-acre organic farm in Thiropurur, and sells organic milk, paneer, ghee, vegetables, and fruits under the Trader Koshy name.

Trader Koshy has got in touch with DriveSpark regarding the long waiting period, which is 8 months, and shares his views and disappointment on the Ford Endeavour.

Ashley has always been a four-wheeler enthusiast and his love for automobiles urged him to book a top-of-the-line variant of the Ford Endeavour, which costs approximately Rs. 35 lakh on-road.

Unfortunately, the Ford dealership in Chennai delivered the bad news saying Ashley will have to wait for 8 months until a vehicle is delivered to him.

Disappointed, Ashley looked for the same variant of the Endeavour in different dealerships and most of them confirmed the same.

"Eight months is just too long to wait for a vehicle in the modern world. Vehicles could be phased out, or even out dated in 8 months," laughs Ashley.

Ashley did take a look at alternate vehicles, but nothing even came close. One of the closest rival is the Chevrolet Trailblazer, but that lacks the charm of being a potent off-roader.

When taking a look at what the Endeavour has to offer, it is quite clear why a customer would chose the Endeavour. But just the lack of on-time delivery and the really long waiting period is a huge drawback for Ford. This can very well affect the overall sales too.
