By looking at the video, it seems like the EcoSport was ahead of the ambulance, and the driver was not ready to give way despite continues honking from the emergency vehicle. But it is not clear that whether the SUV delayed the ambulance as the EcoSport was faster than the ambulance.

Kerala Police has charged Jose for negligent and rash driving, he was also arrested and later let-off. The EcoSport SUV has been seized and the Aluva Joint RTO, CS Ayyappan stated that the license of the SUV driver has been suspended for three months. The driver has also been asked to attend the awareness class conducted by the RTO.

After the arrest, Jose claimed that he was driving as a pilot for the ambulance. But by the looks of the video, we don't think he was doing the right thing. There were many chances where he could have let the ambulance pass rather than blocking its way.

As per law, every driver should give way for emergency vehicles such as fire engine and ambulance. Whenever an emergency vehicle comes, it is the duty of the driver to go to the side of the road and make way. But in India, we often see that the vehicles are blocking the ambulance. The right thing to do is, try to make way for the emergency vehicle even if there is traffic on the road.

It is a shameful act by the driver of EcoSport who blocked the ambulance. In the video, we can clearly see that the driver was not allowing the ambulance to pass, which is an inhuman act. Whenever you are in such a situation, your priority should be giving way to the emergency vehicle, no matter how bad the traffic is.
