Ferrari Motorhome Used By Michael Schumacher On The Auction Block
A motorhome used by Michael Schumacher on his way to his final four world driver's championship victories in F1. The 12-metre long Ferrari motorhome will go up for auction next month in Paris.
A Ferrari motorhome used by Formula One legend Michael Schumacher is set to go up for auction at the Les Grandes Marques du Monde au Grand Palais auction by Bonhams on February 8. The Ferrari motorhome is expected to fetch between € 125,000 - 150,000 (Rs 99 lakh - 1.2 crore)
The 12-metre long motorhome was commissioned by Ferrari and used by Michael Schumacher as he captured his last four championships between 2001 and 2005. Schumacher along with his teammate Rubens Barrichello used the Ferrari motorhome as a team and strategy meetings between races and qualifying and for relaxation.
The Ferrari Motorhome is actually an Iveco(an Italian bus builder) Orlandi Coach powered by a 380hp engine which sent power to the driven wheels via a ZF eight-speed automatic transmission. The customised Ferrari motorhome used by Schumacher and Barrichello also features air suspension.

In its original form, the Ferrari motorhome featured two apartments with LCD TVs, a computer table, a satellite phone, internet, closed storage and a dressing room along with physiotherapy tables for everyone to get a massage after a gruelling battle with the G forces on the track.
Ferrari retired the motorhome at the end of the 2005 F1 season and the luxury coach was sold to a new owner in 2009. The new owner decided to transform the interiors of the bus while keeping Ferrari's red paint job and the iconic prancing horse on the sides along with the other details that identify the bus as one used by F1's iconic racing team.
The interiors underwent a major upgrade with a ceramic tiled bathroom, along with optimised electrical systems and mechanical components. The Interiors also get independent heating and cooling systems along with a Hastens Luxuria double bed, a 220-volt onboard diesel generator and a Bose sound system.
The luxury motorhome from Ferrari was maintained by the new owner without any issue about the expense and the red-coloured coach with beige upholstery is described by the seller as being in very good condition and has less than 90,000 kilometres on its clocks.
DriveSpark Thinks!
The Ferrari motorhome used by Schumacher during his final four championship-winning seasons is a unique F1 related automotive gem. The motorhome itself has been very nicely maintained but it is its connection to Schumacher that will drive the most fanatical Tifosi crazy to get their hands on it.
