Farhan Akhtar Adds Emerald Green Mercedes-Maybach GLS 600 To His Car Collection
Bollywood actor and filmmaker Farhan Akhtar has added a new luxury SUV to his collection - a Mercedes-Maybach GLS 600 4MATIC finished in a striking Emerald Green shade. The actor was spotted arriving at a venue in Bandra with the flagship SUV during the ongoing festive season.
Akhtar was also seen posing with his new ride on Instagram and stepping out from the rear seat of the Maybach GLS600 in Bandra. The flagship Mercedes SUV for India owned by Akhtar has a rather distinctive deep emerald green bodywork and chrome accents. The SUV featured its signature Maybach grille, chrome-lined air intakes, and the emblem mounted prominently on the D-pillar.
The GLS 600 is Mercedes-Maybach's most luxurious SUV offering in India, positioned above the standard GLS. Imported as a completely built unit (CBU), it brings limousine-grade comfort into an SUV body, blending performance and opulence for buyers seeking exclusivity and presence on Indian roads.
Under the bonnet of the Mercedes-Maybach GLS 600 sits a 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 paired with a 48-volt EQ Boost mild-hybrid system. The setup delivers 557 PS and 730 Nm of torque, with an additional 22 PS and 250 Nm of short-term boost available when needed. Power is sent to all four wheels through a 9-speed automatic transmission.
Despite its size, the Maybach GLS 600 can sprint from 0-100 km/h in just 4.9 seconds. The adaptive air suspension with Maybach tuning keeps the cabin level and isolates occupants from uneven roads. A dedicated "Maybach Mode" adjusts throttle and gearbox response for the smoothest chauffeur-driven ride.
Inside, the cabin features Nappa leather upholstery, powered and ventilated rear seats with massage and memory functions, a panoramic sunroof and premium wood trim. Twin 12.3-inch displays dominate the dash, backed by a Burmester 3D surround-sound system and ambient lighting.
The Maybach GLS 600 seen in Akhtar's possession appears to feature the four-seat configuration, complete with a fixed centre console, refrigerator, and fold-out tables. Maybach's extensive customisation programme allows bespoke detailing, with interiors tailored through its Exclusive Manufaktur options.
Safety equipment includes eight airbags, a 360-degree camera, adaptive LED lighting, tyre-pressure monitoring, and a full suite of driver-assistance functions like Active Lane Keeping Assist and Blind Spot Monitoring. These are complemented by soft-close doors, rear-seat tablet control, and an automatic parking assistant.
In India, prices for the Mercedes-Maybach GLS 600 start around ₹ 3.35 crore (ex-showroom), with final on-road figures varying by personalisation. The model continues to attract high-profile buyers, and Akhtar now joins a growing list of Bollywood celebs spotted with the ultra-luxury Mercedes-Maybach SUV which includes the likes of Deepika Padukone, Kriti Sanon and Arjun Kapoor.
