This Electric Everrati Tribute To The Iconic Porche 964 RSR Is Properly Mad
Everrati Automotive Limited, a UK-based company known for its expertise in transforming iconic vehicles into electric tyre shredders, has recently unveiled an all-electric tribute to the Porsche 964 RSR.
Everrati's approach is centred around preserving the original charm of classic cars while equipping them with state-of-the-art electric powertrains, and this latest offering, based on the 911 (Type 964) RSR is no exception.
Launched back in 1993, the Type 964 RSR 3.8 holds a special place in Porsche's history, being one of the rarest 964 variants ever produced. Only 51 examples of this race-ready, lightweight, rear-drive, turbo wide-bodied vehicle were ever made, making it a coveted model among car enthusiasts.
Everrati's tribute retains the authentic look and feel of the original Porsche 964 RSR while enhancing its performance and environmental sustainability. This is done in the usual fashion of ditching the flat-six engine for an electric powertrain
The tribute vehicle boasts impressive specifications. It can accelerate from 0-60mph(0-96.5km/h) in just 3.7 seconds, a notable achievement for any vehicle, let alone one modelled on a classic. This performance doesn't compromise range either, with the Everatti converted 964 RSR 3.8 offering an impressive 322-kilometre range.
This is facilitated by a 63kWh battery pack and a high-tech battery management system, showcasing Everrati's commitment to marrying classic design with modern technology. The firm claims that the Gen2 version of the electric system brings multiple advances over Everrati's Gen1 setup, featuring new and improved cooling and a more refined version of its drive controller and software, enhancing performance and efficiency.
However, the homage to the 3.8RSR isn't solely about performance. Everrati has also prioritised maintaining the aesthetic appeal of the original Porsche 964 RSR. The electric tribute vehicle, visually striking from the outside, beautifully preserves the classic lines of the original model, ensuring that it remains true to its roots.
However, that doesn't mean that Everatti's hasn't made a few changes to help enhance the looks of the classic exterior. The electric 964 RSR rides on some sweet lightweight 18-inch wheels from HRE.
The Everatti Porsche 964 RSR 3.8 which started life as a narrow-body 911 of the era also features carbon-fibre bodywork with a completely new aero package including a larger rear spoiler inspired by the legendary 964 RSR and a revised front splitter that sits lower to the ground.
The interiors also follow the lightweight ethos of the 964 RSR. The electric 964 RSR tribute car deletes the rear seats and replaces them with a rear roll cage. The front seats are replaced with lightweight units clad in the world's lowest carbon leather from Everrati partner Bridge of Weir Leather.
