Ernakulam–Bengaluru Vande Bharat Express To Start Tomorrow - Timings, Fares & More Details
Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Ernakulam-Bengaluru Vande Bharat Express at a ceremonial event on Saturday, ahead of the train's first public commercial run scheduled for tomorrow (11 November 2025).
Indian Railways confirmed the new Vande Bharat Express will operate six days a week, with Wednesday as the weekly non-running day. The train numbers assigned for the new Vande Bharat are 26651 for the Bengaluru→Ernakulam service and 26652 for the Ernakulam→Bengaluru return.
Other than the Ernakulam - KSR Bengaluru train, PM Modi also inaugurated three other Vande Bharat routes on Saturday. These new routes are Banaras-Khajuraho, Lucknow-Saharanpur and Firozpur-Delhi.
The new Enakulam South - KSR Bengaluru Vande Bharat Express covers roughly 608 km and completes the journey in about 8 hours 40 minutes, reducing previous transit times on the corridor. It features an eight-coach rake with AC Chair Car and Executive Chair Car classes, automatic doors, onboard Wi-Fi, and upgraded passenger amenities.
As per the timings published by Southern Railway - Train 26651 will depart KSR Bengaluru at 05:10 and arriving Ernakulam at 13:50. Train 26652 departs Ernakulam at 14:20 and reaches KSR Bengaluru at 23:00.
Bookings were open through IRCTC and authorised counters for the 11 November public run and subsequent scheduled services and the train is already said to be booked out for the first few days of public running.
The Ernakulam - Bengaluru Vande Bharat train will halt at Thrissur, Palakkad, Coimbatore, Tiruppur, Erode, Salem and Krishnarajapuram, linking key commercial centres across Kerala, Tamil Nadu and Karnataka.
Fares for the Ernakulam-Bengaluru Vande Bharat are as follows:
- Chair Car at ₹1,339.05 without food and ₹1,639.05 with a veg meal
- Executive Chair Car is ₹3,003.60 including a veg meal..
The chair car fare includes a base fare of ₹1,144, a reservation charge of ₹40, superfast charge of ₹45, GST at ₹62, and catering charges of ₹364. The Executive Chair Car catering component is ₹419.
