Meta, the parent company of Facebook, Instagram and Whatsapp, has released the all-new Threads app to the world.

So, what exactly is Threads? Well, the latest app from Meta is a direct competitor to microblogging giant Twitter, which has recently started to restrict the amount of content its users can view.
Meta and Twitter's bosses, Mark Zuckerberg and Elon Musk, are feuding online and look set to settle their differences in the octagon. So, it is no surprise that with Twitter in flux, Meta has chosen to bring threads to the market as a direct competitor.
So just what does Threads allow users to do? Users can post messages up to 500 characters, videos (5 minutes max), and website links.
