U.S. President Donald Trump’s Ex-Limousine Is Up For Grabs
The Cadillac Trump was jointly developed by Cadillac and Dillinger/Gaines Coachworks.
A rare 1988 Cadillac limousine which was once owned by U.S. President Donald Trump is up for sale in the United Kingdom. The limousine was designed for him and is named as 'Cadillac Trump'. It was intended to one of a fleet of 50, however, only two made it into production.
The Cadillac Trump is listed on a website called "Exchange and Mart" at £ 50,000 (Rs 42 lakh). The limousine is expected to go to auction in the near future. The car has covered 72,420 kilometres and has had as many as five previous owners.
The special limousine was jointly developed by Cadillac and Dillinger/Gaines Coachworks. Back in those days, Trump and then Cadillac general manager John Grettenberger had a bit of a conversation about limos.
Trump said to Grettenberger, "John, what Cadillac ought to do is come up with a design for an incredible limousine that has the big headroom and all of the assets that anyone could want."
Sean Tanner, Commercial Director for Gloucester-based Severnvale Cars, which is offering the vehicle for sale said, "This is a unique vehicle that offers a rare opportunity for collectors and enthusiasts to buy a car that will always attract interest."
He added, "We know the current owner well, he bought the Cadillac ten years ago and it's been his pride and joy and it has even starred in a couple of films, so we hope this will fetch a good price."
Talking about the features in the limo, it has a television with VCR, a paper shredder, drinks cabinet and built-in safe. It also has leather seats, rosewood panels, gold highlights and some other expensive stuff. Powering the limo is a 5.0-litre petrol engine that is coupled to an automatic transmission.
