Daniel Ricciardo Backs Nico Rosberg For 2016 F1 Title
Singapore GP podium finisher Daniel Ricciardo has talked about the pre-podium silences between Mercedes teammates Lewis Hamilton and Nico Rosberg. The Red Bull driver finished second in the race, with Rosberg winning and Hamilton third. Rosberg took the championship lead from Hamilton and he is now eight points clear of his teammate with six rounds remaining.
Ricciardo said, "When Lewis made up that deficit to Nico and came back it was like OK, nobody's going to touch Lewis. Nico's come back. I'm going to throw a spanner in the works and say Rosberg."
Rosberg seems very strong than Hamilton this season. He has won eight races to Hamilton's six this year. Since August break, the German has won three just when it looked like the Briton had the momentum.
Ricciardo stated, "The best part is if you get on the podium with them two, in the room before we go out on the podium just after the race, you take the helmet off and it's awkward for me because it's just so silent. I don't like silence too much, so I'm like trying to either talk to myself or make conversation with them but they are just happy enjoying the awkward silence. It's quite fun."
The competition is so tight between the Mercedes teammates. For the past three years Hamilton and Rosberg battled for the title., but Nico didn't win.
