Even Rs 200 Crore “Coolie” Salary Of Rajinikanth Can’t Get This Rolls-Royce!
The Entertainment Industry is always booming in India and Rajinikanth's astronomical Rs 200 crore remuneration for the action thriller Coolie is a testament to the growth of Indian movies.
Also, with remuneration of Rs 200 crores, Rajinikanth is among the highest-paid actors in the country. The film also features a long list of top actors including Aamir Khan, Nagarjuna Akkineni, Upendra Rao, Sathyaraj, Soubin Shahir, Pooja Hegde, and Shruti Haasan.

Despite this enormous paypacket, even Rajinikanth-with Coolie expected to be a blockbuster-cannot afford the Rolls-Royce La Rose Noire Droptail, which costs well over $30 million (about Rs 211 crore). Also, the Rajinikanth starrer Coolie has shattered North American records for Tamil movie by earning an estimated $2.9 million from its premiere day show.
Design & Dimensions
This two-seat roadster spans approximately 5.3m in length and 2m in width. The design is inspired by yacht aesthetics, particularly in the slope of its tail. Its staggering paintwork blends "True Love" and "Mystery" reds, developed after more than 150 experimental iterations .
Chassis & Construction
It debuts a bespoke monocoque chassis combining aluminium, steel, and carbon fibre-Rolls-Royce's first in its coachbuilt Droptail series .
Interior Craftsmanship
The cabin features over 1,600 hand-finished veneer pieces, including 533 painted in red to emulate rose petals-crafted by a single artisan over two years . The interior also includes a removable Audemars Piguet watch mounted in the dashboard and a hidden champagne chest with crystal flutes .

Performance
Under the bonnet is a 6.75-litre twin-turbocharged V12 engine, delivering around 600hp with 0-100 km/h reached in approximately 5 seconds; top speed is electronically limited to 250km/h.
Droptail Vs Boat Tail
The La Rose Noire Droptail and the Rolls-Royce Boat Tail are pinnacle examples of modern coach-built luxury, yet they take different approaches:
Body Style & Purpose
Boat Tail is a large grand-tourer with a four-seat layout and a mechanically transforming rear deck that unfolds into a lavish hospitality suite. It includes tables, seating, refrigerators, parasols, and fine dining amenities designed for onboard entertaining.
La Rose Noire Droptail, by contrast, is a compact two-seat roadster built for deeply personal expression, with no hosting suite-its focus is on design, craftsmanship, and driver experience.
Engineering & Chassis
Boat Tail utilizes Rolls-Royce's "Architecture of Luxury" aluminium platform, shared with models like the Phantom and Cullinan.
Droptail steps into new territory with a bespoke monocoque chassis with carbon-fibre elements, offering enhanced stiffness and lighter weight.
DriveSpark Thinks
While Coolie's Rs 200 crore starring fee for Rajinikanth illustrates the heights of Indian cinema salaries, even such extraordinary earnings fall short of the cost to own a marvel like the Rolls-Royce La Rose Noire Droptail. It symbolizes how ultra-luxury coachbuilding exists in a category all of its own-beyond even superstar remuneration.
