Calling All Eco-Warriors: Witness Recycled Art at Its Best!
As a frontrunner in the tyre and technology domain, Continental is planning to give new life to discarded tyres with a unique project called the 'Circle of Trust'. This project will be featured at the Dubai Design Week, which will be happening from the 7th to the 12th of November this year.In a bid to promote their dedication to sustainable practices and the pursuit of new opportunities, Continental has collaborated with well-known artist, Moey, to create an enchanting display centred around the vital question, 'Who do you trust?'.
Their project will revitalise old tyres, giving them a deep and symbolic meaning. To add a personal touch to the installation, interviews from more than a hundred people, both from the public and media representatives, regarding their perspectives on trust were carried out by the artist, Moey. The responses were written on each tyre, making the installation highly personal and unique.
Continental exhibits with this practice of upcycling that discarded tyres can evolve, transcending from mere waste products to inspiring mediums of creativity and environmental activism. They present the untapped potential of used tyres by transforming them into something beneficial, hence contributing to a cleaner, more vibrant world, tyre by tyre.
The creator of this installation, Moey, is a UAE-based conceptual artist having spent fifteen years in Dubai. His allegiance to his chosen homeland and his aspiration to contribute through his artistic prowess have shaped his creative journey. His installation includes the rich culture of UAE, seen as a place of hope for people all around the world.
Regarding his ambitious project, he said, "In these discarded tyres, I find the potential for art to transcend its conventional boundaries.Each inscription is a testament to the trust we place in one another, a beautiful reminder of the deep connections that bind humans together. TheCircle of Trustis about giving new life to the old and celebrating the stories of trust that unite us."
Visitors of the Dubai Design Week will have the chance to connect with the installation, read the inscriptions, share their trust stories, and contribute to the collective account. They are invited to add their stories to the tyres, enhancing the installation while giving them an opportunity to join a larger discourse about trust and its importance.
The 'Circle of Trust' showcases the diverse voices that contribute to Dubai's cultural landscape. It epitomises unity in diversity, with participants from different backgrounds coming together to express their unique understanding of trust. It surpasses geographical, social, and demographic barriers, indicating that trust connects all of us universally.
Continental's participation in this project reaffirms their continuous commitment to sustainable practices and inventive methods to reutilise materials that might otherwise be discarded.
