Superstition At Its Height; This Chief Minister Bought 19 SUVs With Identical Numbers
The Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh has bought 19 Mitsubishi Pajero's for superstitious reasons.

The Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh, Raman Singh has bought himself 19 Mitsubishi Pajero SUVs with identical numbers ending with 004.
CM Raman Singh is looking to win his fourth term in Chhattisgarh, and it is said that for good luck, he has procured the 19 SUVs with identical registration numbers ending with ‘004'. Some say that the 19 is a symbol of victory and the purchase has been made because of superstitious beliefs.
The report also states that the CM purchased the Mitsubishi Pajero's because of their off-roading capabilities as Chhattisgarh has several Maoist-affected areas. But did the CM needed a fleet of 19 SUVs is the primary question.

Commenting on the purchase, CM Raman said that there is nothing to do with the astrological or numerological calculations. In fact, he said that the registration numbers were issued by the RTO and whatever the number they get is lucky for him. He also said that he does not believe in these sort of superstitions.
Chief Minister Raman Singh has already completed three successive terms from 2003 and is looking to win the fourth term. Now, the decision to purchase 19 Mitsubishi Pajero's is said to be made in search of another victory in the upcoming election.

The Mitsubishi Pajero Sport is a rugged SUV capable of handling the rough terrain with utmost ease. The SUV is powered by a 2.5-litre turbocharged, diesel engine producing 175.5bhp and 350Nm of torque. The four-wheel-drive variant comes with a 5-speed manual gearbox and the two-wheel-drive model features a 5-speed automatic transmission.
The safety features of the Mitsubishi Pajero Sport includes ABS with EBD, dual front airbags, collapsible steering wheel column, anti-intrusion brake pedal, electronic immobiliser and crash detection doorlock system shutdown.

It looks like the Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh has gone to another level of superstitious belief by ordering 19 Mitsubishi Pajero SUVs. The prices for the Pajero Sport starts at Rs 26.64 lakh and goes all the way up to Rs 27.54 lakh. All prices are ex-showroom (Delhi). The superstitious belief of the CM of Chhattisgarh has turned out to be an expensive affair.
