BSMotoring Acquired By Delhi Press
Business Standard Motoring, the auto magazine which belonged to the Business Standard Group, has now been acquired by Delhi Press, a magazine publishing house based in Delhi. According to some reports Business Standard Group, which published BSMotoring for nearly two decades, sold the magazine for an amount of INR 10 crores.
Business Standard Motoring, one of India's leading and reputed auto magazine has had a dedicated user base for decades now, but the user base has been dwindling in recent years. The culprit clearly is Internet media. BSMotoring is just one example of the growing worldwide trend where print media have been unable to compete with their Internet counterparts.

When it comes to news sharing the Internet as a medium has obvious advantages of being able to deliver the latest news instantly. While regular dailies and news magazines are not immune to the competition from Internet media either, auto magazines, which are usually published only once a month, are affected more severely.
Pablo Chatterji will be the new Managing Editor of BSMotoring, after Srinivas Krishnan, the previous Editor left the magazine to work for Porsche India as Head of Communications. The magazine will soon shift its base from Mumbai to Delhi.
