Toyota World's Most Valuable Auto Brand
Toyota is once again the most valuable carmaker in the BrandZ Top 100 Most Valuable Global Brands list, replacing last year's topper BMW. The annual study is conducted by market research firm Millward Brown, that lists the world's 100 most valuable brands from all sectors.
Toyota, which held the position from 2006 till 2009, was replaced by BMW in the 2010 and 2012 rankings. This year Toyota's brand value has risen 12 percent to reach $24.5 billion. Toyota's overall ranking is 23. BMW, in second position (24th overall), has gone down by 2 percent, with a brand value worth $24 billion.
In third position (43rd overall) is Mercedes-Benz with an improvement in brand value of 11 percent valued at $18 billion. The last member of the German Big Three, Audi is in 8th position (not in the top 100 overall), valued at $5.5 billion.
Apple is the world's most valued company ($185.1 billion), for the third consecutive year, followed by Google and IBM at $113.7 billion and $112.5 billion respectively. Check out the rest of the top ten list in the gallery.
