Bollywood Actor Sonu Sood Distributed Helmets In Maharashtra – New Standard Set
India, being not only the largest two-wheeler market in the world, but also the country with the highest number of registered two-wheelers, is only slightly ahead of Indonesia, which ranks second in these aspects.
With such a huge number of riders on the road, the startling revelation that only 34% of them prioritise wearing helmets is cause for alarm. This evidently casual attitude towards safety measures results in four fatalities every hour on Indian roads, a statistic that raises a grave concern.
In a bid to address this issue and bring about a change in perspective, Bollywood actor Sonu Sood and Maharashtra's Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) recently joined hands to initiate an awareness campaign.
Bollywood Crusade For Road Safety
The essence of the campaign was recorded and shared by Cars For You on their YouTube channel. The video begins with Sonu Sood and Maharashtra ADGP of Traffic, Dr. Ravinder Singal, moving towards the site where the campaign was set to kick-start.
The atmosphere was abuzz with paparazzi capturing images as the duo started their effort. Sonu Sood and ADGP Singal then focused on identifying riders who were without a helmet and distributed helmets to those riders.
Raising Awareness Through Helmet Distribution
The video reveals Sonu Sood and ADGP Singal, cheerfully distributing helmets and encouraging the young riders to wear them correctly, with the straps properly fastened. The actor was clearly enthusiastic about participating in the awareness campaign.
Young people who were riding without helmets were made to stand in a queue and received helmets from Sonu Sood and Ravinder Singhal.
Sonu Sood On Two-Wheeler Safety
Following the helmet distribution, Sonu Sood responded to questions from the media. His response underlined the gravity of the issue - the lack of helmet use is one of the most severe safety problems in India.

Maharashtra ADGP's Statement On Traffic Safety

In addition to wearing helmets and ensuring their proper fastening, he advised that all drivers and passengers should wear seat belts. By following these safety precautions, the citizens can significantly reduce the number of accidents.
