BMW Vision E³ Way Elevated Road Concept Looks To Bust Congestion & Pollution
BMW has revealed the E3 Way elevated road concept that looks to kill of congestion and ease emissions.
German carmaker BMW has revealed the Vision E³ Way elevated road concept that provides a simple and efficient solution to the biggest problems faced by people in megacities today — congestion and air pollution.

The Vision E³ Way concept was developed by the BMW Group Technology Office China in Shanghai in collaboration with the Tongji University in Shanghai. consists of an elevated road concept for electrically powered two-wheeled vehicles which links key transit points in cities (the road network, underground stations, other traffic hubs, and shopping malls) with each other by the use of ramps & sluice systems.
The 3 E's in the name stands for "elevated", "electric" and "efficient" — the concept's defining properties.

The elevated two-wheeler pathways themselves feature domed roofs and ventilation along with a lane system prevents traffic from merging until it's had a good chance to get up to speed to maintain the flow of traffic. To help improve safety on the elevated roads, cars and other vehicles are banned from using the system and a speed limit of 25kph.

"The BMW Vision E³ Way opens up a whole new dimension of mobility in overcrowded conurbations - efficient, convenient and safe. It works by simply creating space for two-wheel zero-emissions traffic," explains Dr.Markus Seidel, Director BMW Group Technology Office China.
"In China, more than a billion people will be living in cities by 2050. The country will become the global incubator for numerous mobility innovations such as the BMW Vision E³ Way," Seidel adds, "after all, nowhere else is there such an urgent need for action."

BMW's E³ Way concept is a simple and effective solution to the congestion problems found in cities today. While it would be ideal for Indian cities, chances of it being implemented in India are extremely slim, considering that the nation doesn't seem that interested in EVs.
