For most people who have wanted to own a performance car which they can drive to work without looking out of place in a city, the BMW M3 has been the default choice for some three decades now. Offered in coupe, convertible and even sedan form factors, the M3 is regarded as a complete package, which offers the best of both worlds.
In general the M3 is a performance version of the 3 Series, worked on by BMW's ‘M' performance division, which stands for Motorsports. Spanning a period of 28 years, BMW M3 has been offered in E30, E36, E46 versions among others. Even after 4 generations the BMW M3 is still going strong, with its AMG and Audi Quattro counterparts still trying to catch up.
