BMW With James Bond Style ‘Flipping’ Number Plates Caught In Hyderabad – Police Shocked!
Hyderabad Traffic Police recently uncovered a shocking case after intercepting a BMW equipped with a number plate flipping mechanism in Jubilee Hills. The incident highlights how advanced modifications are being used to evade traffic violations.
A recent incident has left the Hyderabad Traffic Police stunned after intercepting a luxury vehicle equipped with "James Bond movie-style" technology. During a routine check in the Jubilee Hills area, officers uncovered an advanced mechanism designed for illegal activities and to evade law enforcement.

BMW Number Plate Scam Busted in Hyderabad
According to reports, the incident took place during a late-night drunken driving check conducted by Jubilee Hills Traffic Police near the Chiranjeevi Blood Bank on Road Number 1. Police stopped a BMW and carried out an alcohol test on the driver.
During the inspection, officers noticed a mismatch: the front of the car displayed a Delhi registration (DL 6CM 7097), while the rear plate showed a Telangana number (TS 9FQ 9999). Officials then asked for the vehicle's documents for verification. However, the driver failed to produce valid driving or registration documents, prompting a detailed inspection of the car.
During the search, police discovered a custom-installed toggle switch placed near the steering wheel. When activated, the system caused the number plates to rotate automatically, switching between the Delhi and Telangana registrations within seconds.

James Bond Style Mechanism
Further verification of the engine and chassis numbers confirmed that the Delhi registration was genuine, while the Telangana plate was fake and used to mislead authorities. Investigations later revealed that the driver had been using this automated "flipping" mechanism to evade traffic cameras and avoid multiple challans while violating traffic rules across the city.
The incident has raised serious concerns about the misuse of advanced technology for unlawful activities on public roads. Jubilee Hills police have seized the vehicle for further investigation. The owner now faces several charges, including drunken driving, non-cooperation with public servants, and forgery for using fake number plates.
Authorities are also investigating the origin of this mechanism and how it was installed in the vehicle. Following this case, Hyderabad Police have issued a strong warning, stating that vehicle inspections will be intensified to detect and prevent similar high-tech violations in the future.
