BMW 3-Series Sedan Mangled In A Horrific Crash In Odisha

Racing on public roads could lead to serious consequences, and the crash you are going to read about is a prime example of the same. A BMW 3-Series sedan and an Audi were reported to be involved in a drag race when this tragic accident happened.

The accident happened near Chikina overbridge on Odisha's Puri-Konark marine drive. A group of four people in a BMW 320d sedan were said to be racing with an Audi sedan. The crash happened after the driver of the BMW lost control of the vehicle due to the high speed.

The BMW hit a tree on the boulder of the road, and the impact was so brutal that the well-built 320d sedan has been mangled into a heap of metal. One person died in this accident, and the other three people including the driver are seriously injured. The accident happened at around 3:30 AM in the morning.

The BMW 320d was damaged to such an extent that the rescue personnel had to use gas cutters to rescue the victims of the crash. The images also show the airbags being deployed at the time of the accident, but they were said to be ruptured due to the massive impact.

The Audi sedan which was involved in drag racing with the BMW is said to belong to a friend of the accident victim group. The Police have not been able to trace the Audi as of now. This accident is a prime example of the consequences of racing on public roads and that too in the night.

The spot of the accident, Puri-Konark marine drive is an accident-prone zone as there were several other accidents happened in the past. In 2015, a BMW SUV had crashed on the same road resulting in the death of all five people.

Racing on public roads could pose a serious threat to you and others as well. Especially during night time, it is better to stick to the speed limits as the visibility will be low. Never indulge in a road race, no matter what car you drive. Do not overspeed on roads which are unfamiliar, as you never know what lies ahead. Be extra cautious when driving in the night and being under the speed limit will give you enough time to avoid any obstacle or pedestrian on the road.
