Road Block Alert: Part Of Banerghatta Road To Be Closed For 1 Year Due To BMRCL Construction
The Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation has announced that a 1 km stretch of the Bannerghatta road in Bangalore will be closed for a year. The stretch will be closed to facilitate the construction of metro lines and the Lakkasandra underground metro station.
The 1 km portion of Bannerghatta road that will remain closed will start from the MICO signal and end at the Anepalya Junction. The Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation announced that the 1 km stretch will remain closed from April 1 onwards.

The station that will be built in Bangalore’s Bannerghatta stretch is called the Lakkasandra station. The Lakkasandra station will have two entrances placed for the convenience of Bosch Limited campus employees.
The Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation stated in their announcement, “This is to bring to the notice of the general public that to facilitate Construction of the South side entry structure of Lakkasandra Underground Metro Station, the Northbound traffic plying on the Bannerghatta Main Road from MICO Signal upto Anepalya Junction will be closed for a period of One year from 01.04.2024.”
The announcement also stated that commuters travelling on Bannerghatta Main Road who want to reach Anepalya Junction will be redirected right at the MICO Signal. This will then reach the Adugodi Signal via the BOSCH Link Road and then commuters will have to take a left.
There is no deviation to the traffic moving towards Dairy Circle from Anepalya junction. Traffic from Dairy Circle towards Shanthinagar will have to take a left at 7th Main Road of Wilson Garden

Sooner or later, it might get on the Bangalore locals’ nerves to have so many roads closed, and other roads being narrowed down for metro construction. However, the convenience that the metro lines will provide is sure to reduce traffic congestion on the road and reduce the time it takes to travel from one side of the city to the other.
