Kerala’s Beypore-Kochi-Dubai Cruise To Slash NRI Travel Costs

The Kerala government has recently made a significant move that is set to revolutionize the travel dynamics for its overseas citizens. The state has greenlit the initiation of the much-anticipated Beypore-Kochi-Dubai cruise service, which is poised to commence shortly.

This development arrives as a response to the growing demand from non-resident Indian passengers for more cost-effective travel options. Noted by a publication from Manorama, the go-ahead for this service was influenced heavily by the significant interest from the NRI community.

Beypore-Kochi-Dubai Cruise Service Benefit

Upon its launch, the Beypore-Kochi-Dubai cruise service is set to offer substantial advantages to non-resident Keralites abroad. One of the most compelling benefits is the expected reduction in travel costs, offering a significant respite from high airfares.

The cruise service will offer fares that are a fraction of the cost of aeroplane tickets, potentially saving passengers up to half or even a third of the cost. Additionally, travellers will have the luxury of transporting three times more luggage than permitted on flights, all within the ticket price.

Passenger Capacity

Designed to cater to a large number of passengers, the cruise is expected to accommodate up to 1,250 individuals per journey. This capacity will ensure a comfortable and uninterrupted maritime journey for all passengers. Equipped with the latest technology, the service promises a smooth and enjoyable experience across the sea.

Idea Behind Cruise Service

Y.A. Rahim, the President of the Indian Association Sharjah, highlighted the efficiency and speed of the new service, noting that the ship is expected to complete the journey within just three days.

With an eye on the approaching school holiday season in December, there is a concerted effort to operationalize the service promptly. The goal is to enable Indian expatriates in the UAE to visit their homeland without the burden of inflated airline costs.

Made in India

In a display of local craftsmanship and dedication, the vessel designated for the Kochi-Dubai route was originally constructed in Kochi for service in another state. However, it has now been reassigned to serve the Kerala Gulf route, reinforcing the 'Make in India' initiative and showcasing the country's growing capabilities in shipbuilding.

With such innovative steps being taken to enhance international travel for Indian expatriates, the forthcoming Beypore-Kochi-Dubai cruise service stands as a testament to the commitment of the Indian government to its citizens abroad.

It reflects a thoughtfully crafted solution for travellers seeking budget-friendly options without compromising on the quality of their journey. As we anticipate the grand launch of this service, it is a moment of pride and expectation for all associated with this venture.
