Porsche had earlier decided to join the toughest endurance race in the world, the 24 hour Le Mans race. Porsche will be competing against the likes of Audi and a few more luxury sports car manufactures. Both the German manufacturers have been competing in the passenger vehicle segment.

Audi and Porsche are multiple winners of the Le Mans between them they hold 28 titles. Audi has been in the game and has only lost two times post 2000. Porsche has been out of the race and they last won Le mans in 1998, which in race terms is a long time ago.
