Video: Watch The Audi R8's Raksha Bandhan Message To Its VW Group 'Sister Supercars'
The Audi R8 has a message for its fellow VW Group supercars on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan. Click for more details.
Raksha Bandhan celebrates the bond of love and protection between a brother and a sister. The festival sees countless sisters tying a rakhi to their brother's arms who in turn offer a gift and promise to protect them in return.
Audi India this year decided to celebrate Raksha Bandhan in its own special way by sending out a message on behalf of its halo car, the R8. In the video, Audi greets its track focused 'sister supercars' in the VW group — Lamborghini Huracan, Porsche 911 Turbo S and the Bentley Continental GT — stating that the trio 'make their brother proud before cutting to a shot of the R8 V10 Plus.

The Audi R8 V10 Plus uses the same 603bhp naturally aspirated 5.2-litre V10 with the Lamborghini Huracan. The Bentley uses a 600bhp 6.0-litre twin-turbo W12 engine while the Porsche 911 Turbo S is the least powerful of the supercar siblings with a 572bhp twin-turbo 3.8-litre flat six.

While Audi's message will seem a bit tongue-in-cheek for those who know the three supercars it names in the video, the video does show that the Germans (at least those in charge here in India) haven't lost their sense of humour, which saw it go up against BMW in a crazy billboard ad war a few years back.
