Audi Quattro Cup 2014 Bangalore Leg Won By Ashwin, Girish
The duo of B Ashwin and BV Girish won the qualifying round of the Audi Quattro Cup 2014 held in Bangalore on March 8th at the challenging Prestige Golfshire. With a combined score of 43 stableford points the duo beat Kawamura Kazuhisa and Sanjay Purohit to the second spot by a single point.
The team of KR Muralidhar and Syed Arif came third on a countback with 42 points. Meanwhile, the team of FR Singhvi and Deepak Anand Joseph was also brought in as a wildcard entry during the prize presentation as lucky winners. However, this team has to await the scores of 12 other teams for them to be able to reach the National final.

The winning team of B Ashwin and BV Girish have beat 49 other teams so far and will be taking part in the national final.

Besides the main event, the Audi Quattro Cup in Bangalore also saw several titles being won including the "Longest Drive" prize with a drive of 305 yards by Kratish Bopanna, emerging as the proud winner of the Audi Experience. This got him a chauffeur-driven Audi A6 for the weekend. Amar Kumar Pandey won the ‘Straightest Drive" award when he hit it on the line while Syed Arif emerged as the winner in the "Closest to Pin" with a shot that landed about 11 feet from the pin.
The Audi Quattro Cup tournament series, established in 1991, is a popular and well recognized amateur golf tournament in the world bringing together over 85,000 golfers from 54 countries. The Indian leg of Audi Quattro Cup will visit 12 other cities making it a 13-leg series and would touch almost 1500 golfers in all.
