All of us get busy with our very work schedules and need a break from time to time. This seems practically impossible for most of us and holidays rarely seem to come by. However, we should all plan a get together with either friends or with family members at least once a year.
But we were lucky and got a much-awaited holiday in Audi's fresh and new Q3 Dynamic. It was not a complete break, as we mixed a little bit of work, just to bring you this road trip story from Mumbai to Lonavala in the rather nice small German SUV.

Audi Q3 Dynamic: Weekend Road Trip
Like all road trips there has to be a common point for all to meet up. Our journey began from an express mall, where we all grabbed some breakfast early on a cold January morning. You can see families getting all excited about their trip. We were lucky as we got an opportunity to take Audi's Q3 Dynamic for our picnic.

The journey in the Audi Q3 is relaxing and long-distance trips feel effortless. Starting the day early is important for any road trip and the occasional stop for tea at a roadside vendor is a must-do on chilly mornings. This is a spot along the highway out of town where locals catch fish from the creek for daily meals. But we were still within Mumbai and having morning tea besides the river was a gratifying experience.

Every good road trip needs random stops and quality time to appreciate both beauties, the scenery and our ride. We kept stopping so that we could take in the clean fresh air, and passed a popular lake in Thane known as ‘Upvan Lake', a place where friends often catch up. In the mornings though it is a different scene—all the fitness-conscious people head out for their walks.

The Audi Q3 Dynamic is the SUV for escaping the concrete jungle. This lake is popular as it is the closest to Yeoor Hills, which is part of the Sanjay Gandhi National Park. Do not be surprised if you spot a few wild animals lurking around in the bushes.

On arriving at the picnic spot in Lonavala it was no surprise to us that everyone at the spot wanted to see the car. Kids that were playing cricket or running around came to a standstill to admire the Q3 at the picnic spot. We had just parked at Bushy Dam before being ambushed by questions about Audi's compact SUV.

We must say are Q3 was surely a poser and loved being clicked no matter what part of the day it was. We carried a few sandwiches and a couple of cool beverages, which did not last long upon reaching the dam. The afternoon sun did put us down for a while, however, the climate control within the vehicle ‘saved' us and we enjoyed a much needed afternoon siesta. All of us had decided to switch off our mobiles and enjoy the tranquility the scenery provided us with.

Eating lunch besides a water body was really satisfying to both the mind and soul. Having good company is also important for short trips like these. These are the best times to share stories and have a crack at your buddy's expense. The hot weather meant we couldn't resist jumping into the water to test the temperature—it was beautifully cool.

We stuffed the boot space with as many things as we could and the Q3 still managed to take in all of our luggage. Seven backpacks, three DSLR camera bags and two bags filled with scrumptious snacks and edibles. If we had some more luggage we believe the Audi Q3 could have accommodated it in the boot.

Getting back on the road and heading back home does not come naturally behind the wheel of this Audi. You never want to leave, and at every turn the only thought that enters your head is "Let's go ahead and explore this settlement."

Our weekend in the Audi Q3 Dynamic ended as a fun experience and we hope to have a weekend like this once again. Everything was perfect in this SUV: comfort, handling, and importantly fuel efficiency as well. The drivers seat is most engaging and keeps you in place no matter what the situation. Audi engineers have sculpted a fantastic seat, which provides ample lumbar support making long distance driving less tiresome.

Driving with the smooth automatic transmission in Audi's Q3 Dynamic is relaxing. The brakes are sharp and at no point will you feel out of control at high speeds.

The climate control works efficiently and provides perfect condition within the cabin. No matter how hot or cold it gets outside Audi's air-conditioner works well and provides relaxed driving pleasure.

The interior dashboard looks premium and elegant, which is an added advantage on long journeys. A boring interior and you end up staring at it for hours and nit-picking faults, which is sure to detract from the upbeat mood of the trip.

There is adequate room in the boot as you see.(refer slide 10) The seats in Q3 can be folded down in a 60:40 ratio thus providing more boot space if needed. For our short trip with a few bags we still had sufficient space for more luggage.

As you can see in the image with a little more fuel than half tank Audi's onboard system told us we could travel roughly 480 kilometres more. In our opinion, these readings were accurate and very useful on long trips, when you do not know when the next fuel station may arrive. In our journey we witnessed fuel efficiency figures of 14.8 kpl, which included highway driving as well as city commuting.

Lastly, a much-loved part of the Audi Q3 Dynamic is the renowned four-concentric-circles logo. These four rings symbolise each automobile company that got together to form Audi: Audi, Horch, Wanderer, and DKW. Previously the German manufacturer was called Auto Union, it was later named Audi as we know it today.

Our weekend trip was really great owing to the many strengths of Audi's Q3 Dynamic. We liked this SUV and believe it is perfect for city use and quick getaways on the weekend as well. Every one of us enjoyed the compact SUV, both the driver and passengers. The feeling of being in an exclusive vehicle made our weekend even more special.
