Ashok Leyland Bags Record Order Of 2,104 Buses From MSRTC
Ashok Leyland, a leading commercial vehicle manufacturer in India and part of the Hinduja Group, has secured its largest single order for fully built buses. The Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) has ordered 2,104 units of the Viking passenger bus from Ashok Leyland.
MSRTC is one of India's largest state transport undertakings, operating over 15,000 buses. With this new order, Ashok Leyland's buses will become a significant part of MSRTC's fleet. These buses will be manufactured at Ashok Leyland's advanced bus body plants and will comply with the latest CMVR standards.
Enhanced Features and Technology
The new Viking passenger buses will feature AIS 153 compliant bodies and the iGEN6 BS VI OBD II technology with a 197 HP H-Series Engine. They will also include rear air suspension to enhance comfort and safety. These modern buses are designed to offer improved safety, better comfort, and lower total ownership costs for MSRTC.
