Apple Patents New Technology To Stop People From Texting And Driving

Now, Apple has come up with new technology to stop people from using smartphones while driving. Yes, Apple has patented a technology named as "Detecting Controllers in Vehicles Using Wearable Devices."

The patent was granted to Apple last week. The system works by using the smart watch of the driver. The sensors in the smart device sense the steering like movements. Then the device automatically silences the phone's notifications.

With no sounds or buzz from the smartphone, the driver is unlikely to fiddle with the mobile while driving. But there is a problem with this technology.

A smartphone cannot simply shut down when moving at automotive speeds. If the user is travelling by car, bus or train, then the user will be blocked out of their phones for no reason.

Yes, this technology is not perfect, as it relies on the user's smart watch. However, it's a good start towards making driving safer and less distracted from digital devices.

It is not yet confirmed whether Apple will include this technology in their future devices. But the new technology is a good solution to increasing problem of distracted driving.
