Is the BMW Wireless Charger Faulty? The iPhone 15 Overheating Issue
Apple's latest flagship smartphone, the iPhone 15, has been the talk of the tech world since its launch. However, seemingly the newest addition to Apple's broad spectrum of products, has been entangled in a series of issues right off the bat.
A particularly perturbing problem that has popped up involves BMW owners and their new purchases. Amid the numerous features and its touted sleek design, the iPhone 15 seems to be facing a mysterious hardware issue when BMW owners attempt to charge them in their cars.

Reports are cropping up from disgruntled BMW owners, who have claimed that the BMW's wireless charger triggers the new iPhone 15 to overheat dramatically. Consequently, this forces the device to enter its data recovery mode, and in some severe cases, leads to a startling failure, the frying up of the phone's NFC sensor.
The series of issues persist as users unplug the overheated phone from the vehicle's wireless chargers. Numerous owners have reported their iPhone 15 heating up dangerously while it was being charged using the car's wireless chargers. Inevitably, the smartphone then malfunctioned and ceased to function correctly once it was disconnected.
To add insult to injury, after allowing the iPhone 15 to cool down and attempting to power it back up, some users discovered another nasty surprise. The phone jumped straight into data recovery mode, resulting in a tedious and unwanted full restore.
Oddly enough, once the smartphone was painstakingly restored to a functioning state, users have reported the incapacity to use Apple Pay, as the NFC chip in the device had gone haywire.
Interestingly, Apple seems to be aware of this concerning problem, as customer service has been replacing such iPhones without much ado or questioning. That being said, as of now, no official statements or comments have been made either by Apple or BMW about this debilitating issue.
At the heart of it, the problem continues to linger as the wireless chargers within BMWs could still cause the iPhone 15 to malfunction severely.
To pacify perturbed customers and to attempt to remedy the unfolding situation, the Cupertino-based tech giant has purportedly rolled out an update addressing the overheating issue. Notwithstanding the sent patch, it appears that the problem is far from over, raising major concerns amongst iPhone users, particularly those who own a BMW.
