London's Natural History Museum Appoint Anand Mahindra As Trustee

Anand Mahindra, the Chairman and Managing Director of Mahindra Group has been named the new Trustee for London's Natural History Museum.

Mahindra will bring to the Museum Board a depth of expertise in business and leadership and his co-opted appointment is for an initial four-year term from 1 January 2015.

Since 2012 Anand Mahindra has held the role of Chairman and Managing Director of Mahindra Group, a £10.5 billion (USD 16.5 billion) organisation that is one of India's top 10 industrial houses.

He has held a series of progressively senior roles in the Mahindra Group, having started his career at Mahindra Ugine Steel Company (MUSCO). He holds an MBA from Harvard Business School, having also completed undergraduate studies at Harvard College.

Lord Green, the Chair of the Trustees of the Natural History Museum said, "Anand Mahindra's renowned business acumen and international vision is an excellent addition to our board. I am delighted to welcome him as a Trustee and look forward to working with him to forge even stronger links with the global business community."

Anand Mahindra said, "I am deeply honoured by this appointment and look forward to contributing my thoughts and ideas to the board.
