Amara Raja And Gotion-InoBat Partner Up For Battery Tech Advancements
Amara Raja Advanced Cell Technologies (ARACT), a subsidiary of Amara Raja Energy & Mobility (ARE&M), has entered into a technical licensing agreement with GIB EnergyX Slovakia, a subsidiary of Gotion High-Tech.
Under the agreement, GIB EnergyX will license Gotion's lithium-ion cell LFP technology to ARACT. The deal allows Amara Raja to manufacture LFP cells in both cylindrical and prismatic form factors and provides access to cell technology IP, support for establishing Gigafactory facilities, integration with Gotion's global supply chain network for critical battery materials, and customer technical support for solution deployment.

Amara Raja's Gigafactory and ePositive Energy Labs
The technology transfer and service support will aid Amara Raja in operationalising its Gigafactory manufacturing capacities and its advanced research and innovation centre, 'ePositive Energy Labs', which aims to lead India's R&D capabilities in this field.
In 2021, Amara Raja announced an investment of Rs 9,500 crores to establish the Amara Raja Giga Corridor in Telangana. The company seeks to keep its products competitive through continuous improvements in cell performance and process efficiencies during the partnership period.
Collaboration with InoBat and GIB
Amara Raja and Gotion are both shareholders and board members of InoBat, a lithium battery technology company in Slovakia focusing on advanced applications such as electric aviation and developing a robust 'Cradle to Cradle' ecosystem of battery value chain.
GIB, a joint venture between Gotion High-tech and InoBat, recently signed an investment agreement with the Slovakian Government for the development of the country's first LFP battery Gigafactory.

Gotion High-Tech's Global Presence
Gotion High-Tech has eight global R&D centres, 8,000 patented technologies covering the battery industry value chain, 20 major manufacturing locations worldwide, and a capacity layout expected to reach 300GWh by 2025.
Vikramadithya Gourineni, Executive Director of ARE&M, expressed excitement about deepening their partnership with Gotion and InoBat. Jayadev Galla, Chairman & Managing Director of ARE&M, believes that India will be one of the fastest-growing EV markets and that Gotion's globally proven technology combined with their expertise in the energy and mobility space will be a winning combination.
