AC Schnitzer Boosted BMW X5 Is Powerful & Subtle At The Same Time
The facelifted version of the current BMW X5, known as the LCI in BMW parlance, has been around for just over a year, attracting attention from multiple tuning houses. The updated BMW X5 has been modified and tuned by these tuners, but AC Schnitzer's latest take on the SUV may just be the one we find most palatable.
AC Schnitzer's updates to the BMW X5 offer a blend of aesthetic tweaks and performance upgrades that are sure to catch the eye of enthusiasts, no matter which version of the Bavarian SUV they have in thier garages.
Both the BMW xDrive 40d diesel and the 50eX plug-in hybrid variants receive significant power boosts. The 40d's output has been increased from its original 347bh and 720Nm of torque to an impressive 382bhp and 780Nm. Similarly, the 50eX plug-in hybrid now boasts 543bhp and 800Nm of torque, a substantial jump from its previous 489bhp and 700 Nm.
For models equipped with air suspension, AC Schnitzer offers lowering kits to bring the vehicle closer to the ground, enhancing both the appearance and handling. The X5 40i, for example, can be lowered by 15 to 25mm at both axles. The 30d, 40d, and the M60i models see reductions of 20-30mm at the front axle and 15-25mm at the rear.
New wheel options from AC Schnitzer also play a part in the tuned 2024 BMW X5's updated looks. The AC5 Flowforming wheels, available in glossy black or a bi-tone finish, were specially developed for BMW's large SUVs. Measuring 10.5x22 inches, these wheels are fitted with 275/35 and 315/30 tyres at the front and rear, respectively, and feature wheel spacers that extend the width by 12mm per side.
There are several exterior design and aero upgades in the form of a new front splitter, side skirts, and a rear roof spoiler that are made mostly from polyurethane (plastic to us commoners). Inside, the modifications continue with aftermarket components made of aluminum. These include a new paddle shifter, iDrive cover, pedals, and a footrest.
Unfortunately, AC Schnitzer has not revealed the pricing for these upgrades, so interested owners will need to contact the tuner directly to get those details.

The enhancements made to the BMW X5 by AC Schnitzer are a testament to the tuner's ability to elevate the vehicle's performance and aesthetics without going overboard like some of its rivals.
