500cc 2-Stroke MotoGP Epic Battles
Before the current rules of MotoGP existed the championship was raced with 500cc 2-stroke petrol machines. They were loud and fast and had no rider aids on them, it was pure riding skills that could get you to the top step of the podium.
During the 500cc 2-stroke era the most memorable battle comprised of Wayne Rainey onboard a Yamaha while, his rival rode Kevin Schwantz rode a Suzuki. Between them they created a lot of entertainment for the fans and followers of the motorsport.
Both the riders hailed from America and created a name for themselves in the sport. They are regarded as legends Wayne Rainey won three World Championships in the premier class. On the other hand compatriot Kevin Schwantz managed to win a single World Championship.
