2013 Formula 1 Cars And Drivers At A Glance

The 2013 Formula 1 season will be an exciting one. All the 11 teams participating in the 2013 championship have unveiled their cars and have already started the first round of testing. The Formula 1 cars have emerged out of their wind tunnels and have hit the test track.

It will be interesting to see how these new Formula 1 cars will perform. While some are said to be completely ready for the inaugural Australian GP to be held on March 17th, some teams are looking at the the official testing period as a means of modifying and improving their cars' dynamics and performance.

Some of you might have missed out the 2013 Formula 1 race cars unveiled during last week. The 2013 range of Formula 1 cars will be the last ones to be powered by V8 engines. The 2014 season will have Formula 1 cars powered by smaller V6 engines.

Ferrari ha unveiled its 2013 F1 car. The car has been named F138. The 13 is for the year 2013 and the 8 indicates the last season where the V8 engine will be used. Fernando Alonso and Felipe Massa will attempt to wrest back the F1 championship from Red Bull this year.

Caterham, the British car brand more famous for its go-kart like cars has unveiled the CT03. Caterham has roped in the services of Charles Pic and Giedo van der Garde for this season.

Lotus E21

Lotus E21

The Lotus was the first 2013 F1 car to be unveiled. Kimi Raikonen will be trying to get his second world championship through this car. The second driver in the team is Romain Grosjean.

Marussia MR02

Marussia MR02

Marussia is one of the new entrants in the Formula 1 championship. Luiz Razia and Max Chilton will be leading the team in this year's championship.

The Indian Formula 1 team has surprisingly not revealed the second driver to team up with Paul di Resta. It has said it is looking at improving its performance from last year.

McLaren MP4-28

McLaren will for the first time in several years be without the services of long time driver Lewis Hamilton. The British team's racing duo are Jenson Button and Sergio Perez.

Red Bull RB9

Red Buill, the defending F1 champion will be looking to repeat last year's performance with the new RB9. Sebastian Vettel and Mark Webber will continue their partnership with the team.

Mercedes-Benz W04

Mercedes-Benz has replaced Michael Schumacher with Lewis Hamilton for the 2013 season. We have to wait and see if Hamilton can prove a great replacement. The second driver in the team is Nico Rosberg.

Sauber C32

The Sauber C32 will be powered by a Ferrari sourced V8 engine. The Sauber F1 team includes Nico Hulkenberg and Esteban Gutierrez.

Last but not in the list is the Scuderia Toro Rosso STR8, the sister team of Red Bull racing. The drivers for the 2013 season are Daniel Ricciardo and Jean-Eric Vergne.
