Amazing 105 Year Old Woman Receives A Car As A Gift

At 105 years Edythe Kirchmaier is Santa Barbara, California's senior most resident. But you'll be astounded to know that while many people might stop driving after, say 70 years, Kirchmaier recently renewed her driving license.

Kirchmaier received her first driving license when she was 19 years old and her 86 years driving record is a clean slate, without a single traffic violation or even a parking ticket. And believe it or not, she learned how to drive in a Ford Model T.

Driving at her age is not her only achievement. Kirchmaier is behind a non-profit organization, Direct Relief that aids local healthcare providers all over the world by helping them with critical medicines and supplies. In this regard she has also appeared in several well known American TV shows, including the Ellen DeGeneres Show, The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, and Access Hollywood Live.

Kirchmaier, however, faced difficulty when her 1997 minivan started breaking down often. Thankfully, an anonymous well wisher surprised her by gifting her a brand new 2013 Honda CIvic so that she could carry on with her selfless service to the community.

On her 105th birthday Edythe Kirchmaier's wish was to raise 105,000 likes for Direct Relief's on its Facebook page. In case you are wondering, she does happen to be Facebook's oldest registered user.
