You would have already read in the previous page about how to prepare your car for the monsoons. Now we will provide you safety tips that you can use while on the road.

a. As we said earlier, roads are slippery during the rains. Particularly the ones built using concrete. Avoiding high speed is advised on such surfaces.

b. Use a lower gear that you usually do when it is raining. It will help keep your car's speed low and will allow you to have a better control on the vehicle.

c. Maintain a fair distance with the vehicles in front you as well as behind you. As the braking distance during monsoon rains is higher than usual, this greater distance will avoid collisions.

d. Avoid using high beam headlight while its raining. Although the visibility is slightly higher, you will be distracting oncoming traffic and that is not safe.

e. Use warning lights whenever you slow down during rains. It will provide an additional warning to other road users.

f. Avoid driving on huge puddles of water as you will not be able to ascertain their depths. Deep puddles can damage your car's suspension.

g. Traffic jams and slow moving traffic are regular events during monsoons. Start early to avoid delays

Hope these safety tips help you get through the Monsoons without any problems.
