Road Trip
Many of us want to go on long road trips covering the length and breadth of our country. Many of us have even attempted long trips but have faced several difficulties that we were least prepared for. Enjoying a road trip requires lot of preparations and following some rules. Drivespark presents to you five magic rules that will help you enjoy a road trip as part of the Tip of the Day series.

Do not drive when you are tired
Driving can take a lot out of your body if you are doing it for long hours. Never try to over do anything. If you feel tired, take a break and sufficient rest before resuming. You might feel driving for another 5 odd kilometers to reach your destination will be easy. But you need to remember that your body will take more time to react when tired.

Do not consume junk food
Keeping your stomach clean is of utmost importance when on a road trip. It is advised to avoid eating junk food as you might not be able to attend to such medical emergencies leading from junk food safely. It is always safer to eat fruits, vegetables, whole grain bread, chocolates and dry fruits. They offer you the right amount of energy while not affecting your stomach.

Always keep yourself hydrated
When you can ensure all the required fluids in your car are sufficiently filled, you can also do the same to your body too. Always keep sufficient quantities of water with you and avoid drinking aerated drinks and drinks containing caffeine such as coffee and tea. They can dehydrate your body at a faster rate.

Take a Break
You go on a long road trip not only to enjoy the drive but also to look around. Get out of your car once in a while and take in the scenery and walk around. Go for a short hike so that all your stiff muscles loosen up. This will also re-energizes your body and keeps you in a good physical shape.

Never Consume Alcohol On A Road Trip

Some people enjoy a stiff drink after a tough day at work. But Alcohol is a strict no no while on a road trip. Alcohol can blur your vision, increase your decision making time, reactions slow and can result in severe accidents. Drinking alcohol while driving is a traffic offense and you would not like to be caught by police and locked up at an unknown location for breaking a serious traffic rule.
