Volkswagen Polo GT 1.2 TSI Launched; Rs 7.99 Lakhs
Volkswagen has launched its most powerful Polo hatchback model in India. The Polo GT 1.2 TSI is priced at INR 7.99 lakhs (ex-showroom, New Delhi) and comes with several new features, seen in a petrol car in India for the first time.
The all new VW Polo GT 1.2 TSI is the replacement for the Polo 1.6 performance variant that was discontinued last year owing to poor sales. The new Polo GT 1.2 TSI will fill in that gap by offering good performance, with a smaller, more efficient engine.
The new VW Polo GT is powered by a four cylinder 1.2 liter engine, with turbocharger and direct fuel injection. A first for a petrol engine in India.
Another first is the VW DQ200 7 speed double clutch automatic transmission. Manual transmission is not offered with this model
The engine delivers a healthy 103 HP and 175 Nm of torque. Fuel economy figure is 17.2 kmpl.
Several safety features come as standard with the Polo GT 1.2 TSI. These include ABS, EBD and dual front airbags.
Standard electronic amenities include automatic climate control, Bluetooth audio and stereo system.
The Sporty styling remains the same as the Polo SR Edition, but with the additional GT badges on the front grill, sides, rear and the door sill plate.
Then there are the metal foot pedals, commonly found in sporty variants.
VW Polo GT 1.2 TSI is available in three colours, red, black and white.
