Volvo S60 Polestar Heads For Production: Images

When first shown as a concept at the 2012 Los Angeles Auto Show Volvo S60 Polestar had attracted considerable attention. Developed by Polestar, Volvo's racing division, the S60 performance sedan shares several of its features with Polestar race cars and is seen as the Volvo equivalent of Audi RS4, BMW M3 or the American Corvette.

At the time of debut last year only one S60 Polestar 508 HP, high performance Swedish sedan was built and was sold for a price of $300,000 or INR 1,61,79,000. Volvo had, however, indicated a limited production run was possible in the future. That time is now here. Volvo has released images and details of a limited run S60 Polestar which, unfortunately, will go into production only in Australia - for now. More details below.

Volvo S60 Polestar Enters Production

The production version of the Volvo S60 looks almost the same as the one-off concept shown last year. However, the car comes with fewer horses underneath the bonnet.

508 HP and 575 Nm were the figures from the S60 Polestar one-off concept. The production version is restricted to 350 HP and 500 Nm, which is still more powerful than a 2013 S60 R-Design. Other specs are as follows.

Volvo has not revealed how many S60 Polestars will be built for Australia, but notice the badge on the steering wheel that reads "No. 000/100."
