Volkswagen India Launch 2015 Cross Polo With 1.2 MPI Engine

German automobile giant Volkswagen had introduced its Cross Polo in India last year. The vehicle was based on their Polo hatchback and was tried to fit into a new segment. Previously the Cross Polo was offered only with a diesel mill.

Volkswagen India now announced the launch of their 2015 Cross Polo with a 1.2 MPI, petrol engine. The German manufacturer has opted to offer their new model with a new engine at an attractive price of INR 6,94,000 ex-showroom, Mumbai.

Booking of the new Cross Polo will commence from today 15th January, 2015. The 2015 Cross Polo 1.2 MPI will come in three striking colours: Deep Black, Flash Red and Reflex Silver. Volkswagen has not changed much with their Cross Polo and have only provided a petrol engine, to make it more desirable to a wider audience.

Volkswagen Cross Polo 1.2 MPI will be powered by:

An all new 1.2-litre petrol engine will do duty in the vehicle. It will produce 74 bhp, along with 110 Nm of peak torque output. This petrol engine will be paired with a 5-speed manual transmission. The German manufacturer claims fuel efficiency figures of 16.47 kpl, which is approved by ARAI.

Michael Mayer, Director, Volkswagen Passenger Cars, Volkswagen Group Sales India Pvt. Ltd. commented,"With the New Volkswagen Cross Polo, we will inject some excitement into the premium hatchback segment in India."

He further added, "With its rugged, dynamic styling, upmarket interiors and high levels of safety, we are sure the New Cross Polo will appeal to buyers who like a bit of sportiness and individuality in their cars."

The petrol powered Cross Polo will be offered as a single variant. It will feature ABS, audio system with CD and aux, climate control, dual airbags for front passengers, power windows, flat-bottom steering wheel with audio controls and all black interiors. It also gets new alloy wheels, body cladding, bumpers and roof rails.

Volkswagen Cross Polo competes against the likes of the newly launched Fiat Avventura and Toyota Etios Cross. All three products are new and fresh and offer both petrol as well as diesel motors with their models.
