Toyota Kirloskar Workers Take To Relay Hunger Strike
Toyota Kirloskar worker's union members, who had earlier this month, sat on a hunger strike outside the company's manufacturing facility, have decided to end it.
The last few days saw several striking workers suffer from low blood pressure and a few even even had to be hospitalised. Due to the risks involved, upon the suggestions of senior union leaders and NGO's, the workers have now, instead, taken to relay hunger strike. In other words, participants will take turn to sit on strike, with fresh members replacing each other.

It's been about a month since workers have refused to come to work at Toyota Kirloskar two facilities, severely affecting production. The worker's union is demanding a pay hike of Rs 4,000 and also wants unconditional reinstatement of about 32 suspended workers.
Post the lifting of lock-out workers have refused to return back to work as they are not ready to sign an undertaking of good conduct.
A meeting called by the Labour Commissioner between the workers and the management had to be cancelled as the latter failed to participate in it.
