Toyota Camry Hybrid Launching This Month; Mileage & Other Details
India's first locally assembled hybrid car will be the Toyota Camry which will be launched later this month. Toyota has revealed a few other details about the upcoming hybrid saloon.
Powerplant
Starting with the most important part. The Camry Hybrid will come with a 2.5 liter 158 HP petrol engine mated to a CVT transmission. Aiding this will be a 44 HP electric motor, providing an impressive combined power output slightly exceeding 200 HP.
Fuel Economy and emission
Toyota states an ARAI certified mileage of 19.16km/l and CO2 emission of 122.8g/km.
After high fuel economy, power and low emission comes cabin quietness, another area Toyota has improved the Camry Hybrid over the regular Camry. The hybrid version will come equipped with a windshield that will cut down cabin noise by absorbing wind noise.
Features
Camry Hybrid will be the top end variant and thus will come equipped with features to the brim. The additional features include hill start assist, 3 zone automatic air-con, rear windshield sunshade and first in class features like ventilated front seats, reclining rear seats with center armrest mounted controls.
The hybrid will also sport special low energy consuming front lights to improve battery life and improve the lifespan of the bulbs.
The most efficient Camry on offer will be offered in India via the CKD route, with only the hybrid module getting imported. Local assembly should make it relatively affordable for the targeted buyer group. Pricing details will be revealed at launch.
