Tata Nano to be revamped
The world's cheapest car, the Tata Nano will get a makeover when it is relaunched next year under the name 'Smart City Car'.
Girish Wagh, Senior Vice President of Tata Motors said that the car suffered an image problem which lead to the drop in sales. He said that Tata is working on numerous inventions that will make this car live up to people's dreams. Tata is working to make the Nano a better product.
The Nano brand took a hit when there were delays in delivery due to a project delay. A few cases of the car going up in flames also made people think twice about the Nano.

Wagh says that the cases when the car caught on fire was either because of unidentified objects in the exhaust system or because of the vehicle owners altering the original wiring of the car. He says that these problems have been worked on and the company has focused on safety on their Nano Twist model.
The company understood the fact that many people would take a test drive of the car, book one and then cancel the order of the Nano listening to the negativity about the brand.
The Senior Vice President said that Tata is hoping that the new revamped model of the Nano would bring sales figures up.
Tata also has plans to export the new rebranded car to international markets - the car will be manufactured in Tata's manufacturing facility in Ahmedabad.
