2013 Silverstone Classic To Create History
Silverstone circuit, home of British motorsport is all set to flag-off the 2013 Sliverstone Classic [26-28 July]. This year's Silverstone Classic, will witness a 54-car grid in what's a record breaking field of Formula Ford single-seaters. This will be the first time in the junior formula's illustrious 46-year history where more than 50 cars will line-up on the same grid.
What makes this race even more charismatic is the presence of Tiff Needel, a TV star in blast from the past. Tiff Needel is a former F1 driver and is best known as a former co-presenter of Top Gear and current co-presenter of Fifth Gear. Tiff Needell will race the same Lotus 69F which he won in a competition in Autosport magazine in 1971.

Tiff was last seen racing the Lotus 69F at Silverstone in 1973. That's like 40 years ago!

Formula Ford was introduced in 1967, and this racing platform quickly became the launch pad for future champions.

This year's Silverstone classic race will witness priceless Bugattis from the Thirties to 200mph Group C Le Mans prototypes from the Eighties, making it the world's biggest gathering of historic racing machinery.
